Please note that all classes need a minimum of five students to run. If you are interested in registering for a class, please register sooner than later. Otherwise, classes with less than five students will be cancelled. Thank you for your consideration!

Sewing Basics ~ Fridays 7/11-8/1 from 7:00 to 9:30PM

Instructor: Crissy Phillips of Christine Phillips Design

Location: Old Pine Community Center

Dust off your sewing machine! In this four week, workshop intensive students will learn basic sewing techniques of functional, practical stitching. Students will also learn basic machine use, fabric selection and preparation, and basic pattern reading. We will be working with a simple pattern that incorporates all of these skills. Students will leave this workshop confidant in their sewing skills and inspired to sew, sew, sew! Class is suitable for both beginners and people with limited or no sewing experience.

Disclaimer- Due to the high demand, PSC Sewing Basics will be offered every month. To accommodate your schedules, we alternate sessions when classes are held on weeknights or weekends.

 

Garment Closures ~ Thursdays, 7/10-7/24 from 7:00 to 9:30 PM

Instructor: Evelyn Hoffman

Location: Old Pine Community Center

New to sewing and garment construction? Looking to make clothes that aren’t held together with a string? Our Garment Closures class is a 3 week intensive on the various ways to keep your shirts buttoned and your pants zipped.

Students will learn the basics of zippers, snaps, hooks and eyes, and the intimidating buttonhole. This is a great class for people who are just getting started or those who’d like to brush up their skills.

Recycled Vintage Scarves ~ Monday 7/14 from 7:00 to 9:30 PM

Instructor: Veronica Paige

Location: Old Pine Community Center

This summer is gearing up to be a scorcher but that doesn't mean you can't look fabulous! Clean out your closet and make a top with PSC's "Recycled Vintage Scarves" class.

Students will have the option of making two different types of tops from vintage scarves. Simple and fun, this class is what you need before you're locked into wearing your usual summer uniform of flip flops and a t-shirt.

Maternity Jeans ~ Monday, 8/11 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM

Instructor: Megan Haupt

Location: Old Pine Community Center

Calling all crafty mamas or mamas-to-be! No more do you need to rely on costly (and let’s admit it, often unattractive) retail maternity clothes. Learn how to make your own maternity jeans in this very simple reconstruction workshop. Using a pair of jeans and some knit fabric, we will be making a pair of jeans that are fit for and designed by you!

Basic machine sewing knowledge is required, pregnant belly is not.
